... a new story is published. You’re all set. By John Feinstein By John Feinstein Columnist March 18 at 11:12 PM. ORLANDO — There was nothing spectacular about Quentin Goodin’s statistics on Saturday night at Amway Center. The stars of Xavier’s stunning 91-66 rout of third-seeded Florida State in the NCAA tournament West Region were, without doubt, Trevon Bluiett, who poured in 29 points; Kaiser Gates, who came off the bench to make 4 of 5 shots from three-point range; and Tyrique Jones, who had 13 points and made 6 of 7 shots from the field. Jake Post started on the mound for Ohio State, and had kind of an all-or-nothing-day in the chilly conditions. In five innings of work, the redshirt senior right-hander allowed two runs on six hits, walking four and striking out six. Post did not figure into the decision. Also not figuring in the decision was the Musketeers’ Zac Lowther, though through no fault of his own. The junior southpaw allowed just one hit in his six innings of work, but gave up two runs, only one of which was earned. Lowther walked three batters, but also set down 11 via the strikeout. Xavier struck first, putting up a run ...
