... going to say good-bye to touring.” It will be something of a homecoming for Cassidy, who lived in Montecito in 1976 with then-wife Kay Lenz. “If I ever move back to California, S. B. is the only place I would consider living. I truly love it there,” he said. He lived on an 11.6-acre Spanish-hacienda-style property with a few horses, and remembers having great times at Joe’s in the late ’70 s in his getaway home from the L. A. bustle. The years have a tinge of pain now, as he looks back on the marriages that didn’t work out. “I made very poor choices when it came to relationships. I’m not real good at it; I just never have been,” he said. But in all, it’s been a great life on the road. “I just can’t tour anymore. I know it’s time. I’ve done it at the highest level. I’ve been embraced by millions and millions and millions of people all over the world,” Cassidy said. See him at the Granada for one last chance to cherish his work live in person. CASSIDY: David, I really think you’re overreacting. Getting Dorothy homeis very important. Learning the truth about her mother and finding her way back to Kansas is the culmination of her entire story. The hero’s journey, right? SCHULNER: Don’t give me that Joseph Campbell crap. CASSIDY: I’m just saying that this is everything we’ve been working toward all year, and if we don’t get Dorothy home- SCHULNER: She and Lucas can live happily ever after! Cassidy looks at him pointedly. CASSIDY: And wouldn’t that be. boring? Schulner holds, realizing he’s right. Cassidy sighs, heads for the door. Give Trump A Break, Says Matthew Mcconaughey; David Cassidy Exiting Show Biz After 50 Years; Hill Apologizes To Pittsburgh Fans

... Lauryn Hill has apologized for making fans wait more than three hours for her show to start in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Hill says on Facebook that "factors out of our control" caused her to take the stage at 11:20 p.m. for a Heinz Hall show advertised as starting at 8 p.m. She says snow in New York caused some band and crew members to be stuck at La Guardia Airport and arrive late in Pittsburgh. In hindsight, she says, the performance should have been canceled and rescheduled. Hill says the promoter used social media to notify fans that the show would start late. But the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that many fans left and demanded refunds. Hill says she hopes to schedule another Pittsburgh performance for those fans later this month. Previously undiscovered live recordings of reggae legend Bob Marley’s shows in London and Paris from 1974 to 1978 have been found in a London hotel where Marley used to stay during that time, according to Britain’s Guardian. After nearly 40 years, the 13 reel-to-reel tapes were found in a cardboard box in the rundown Kensal Rise Hotel. The tapes are recordings of four concerts made using the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio, a 24-track portable system put together by The Stones keyboardist Ian Stewart that proved immensely popular in the ‘70 s. Among the albums recorded on the Mobile were most of Led Zeppelin’s “Led Zeppelin III,” “Led Zeppelin IV,” “Houses of the Holy” and “Physical Graffiti”; Deep Purple’s “Machine Head”; Bad Company’s “Run with the Pack”; and Fleetwood Mac’s “Penguin” and “Mystery to Me.”. The Marley tapes suffered severe water damage and were thought to be irreparable, but they were given to ...

... its six-year run on the Strip. I have a new song title for him: “Too Good To Be True”! In age, Frankie is the grandfather of pop music, but he’s as young as ever in performance. The last time Frankie and I chatted, he told me that he has absolutely no intention of ever retiring: “It keeps me alive. It keeps me young. What else would I do? I never get tired of this music, and I love it as much today as I did when we started out!”. Frankie is just one of this weekend’s music highlights. Bonnie Raitt precedes him at The Pearl by a day. We also have the jazz genius of The Ramsay Lewis Trio at The Smith Center, R. Kelly at The Joint at The Hard Rock Hotel, David Cassidy at Golden Nugget, new Grammy winners Twenty One Pilots at Mandalay Bay and George Strait and Kacey Musgraves at T-Mobile Arena for two nights. David Cassidy Announces Retirement
David Cassidy Announces Retirement

... has certainly made these cross country shows much more difficult for me now. As most of you know, I live very happily in South Florida as it makes my life much more manageable. What a remarkable, long-lived career I have been blessed to have. I love my band, whom are all very gifted, as friends. Most have now been with me for years, performing around the world and of course mostly here in the USA and Canada. Of course, I’m planning on working less and less due to travel. However, I’ve never loved playing live in concert as much as I have in the past few years. This for me has been almost like a drug! My audience reactions and phenomenal support have made it so sweet and gratifying. I could never repay the love and the reward I get from all my fans from around the world. This is not a complete “Good bye” but I’m planning on working much less. But… Damn DO I LOVE IT! And to all of you everywhere in the world. Happy Trails. XO. DC.
