Revenge Is A B
... Those beating continued, sometimes in tag matches where Jax reluctantly tagged with Charlotte. And sometimes just by beating up women who made the mistake of being Sasha Banks fans. The Boss may be hobbled, but she’s still proud. Throughout this feud, she helped Bayley earn a shot at Flair’s title by providing a distraction during the Hugster’s #1 contender match against Nia, and this past Monday showed up to let Jax know she’s not broken - and she definitely isn’t scared. What's at stake. If rumors are to be believed, both of these ladies might be in a title match at Wrestle Mania 33, which makes it seem like a win or loss here doesn’t matter much. And maybe that’s true. But Mania cards have been known to shift around in the months leading up to the Show of Shows, and whoever gets their hand ...
In The Court Of The Cruiserweight King
... and even, in a somewhat tangential appearance in the UK, Tommy End on his way to his title shot. Even would-be allies like Brian Kendrick and Noam Dar have found a chilly reception in the king’s court. His focus is laser-sharp, and there is no time in Neville’s world for anything other than winning the title. On your knees, Swann. The issues of the feud aside, the deck is stacked against the champion. He and Neville have met twice before, once in Dragon Gate, and once on 205 Live, and both times Rich came out the loser. Indeed, both times Neville found victory in under fifteen minutes. Not only that, but Neville has the experience edge on him, not just in absolute terms (thirteen years in the business compared to nine), but in terms of wrestling in the WWE environment. Neville has been here since 2012, Swann since 2015. To boot, since changing his attitude, Neville has more ways to finish a match than ...
How Many Refs Does It Take To Call A Pre-show Tag Title Match
... New Day’s historic reign as Raw tag team champions, it felt like they were wrestling either Sheamus & Cesaro or Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. And in many of those matches, Kofi Kingston, Big E & Xavier Woods retained by bending the rules. So we could be asking why the powers-that-be are just now getting around to taking measures to ensure a fair & decisive result in a tag title bout. But this is pro wrestling, so that would be kind of futile. Instead, let’s just focus on how we got here. General Manager Mick Foley decided to settle a best-of-seven series between the Celtic Warrior and the Swiss Superman by making them partner up (seriously). After some rough patches, a shared love of beating people up got Cesaro & Sheamus on the same page, and the finally dethroned New Day. Anderson & Gallows arrived in WWE from New Japan last Spring and immediately shot to the top of the tag ranks. Unfortunately, whether they were making jokes or inflicting pain, with AJ Styles as The Club or just two good brothers being mean & making green, that’s as far as they’ve gotten. They thought they got over the hump a couple weeks back on Raw, but while Gallows & Anderson ...
Neville Wins Cruiserweight Title From Rich Swann
... the barricade several times to stop his momentum. In one of the biggest moments of the match, Neville went up top for a dive, but Swann nailed him in the face with a heel kick. He then hit a hurricanrana and a spectacular Phoenix Splash off the top, sending both men crashing to the floor. Back in the ring, Swann hit a roundhouse kick and a vicious clothesline, both of which got two-counts. Neville finally recovered enough to crotch Swann on the top rope. He then went to set up his superplex, a new finisher that put away many opponents before. Swann fought him off and threw a heel kick into the gut, but Neville came back with a superkick of his own. He went for a deadlift suplex, which Swann countered into another kick and nearfall. Neville only escaped the loss by grabbing the rope during the referee’s count. Swann went back up top, but Neville raced up there to meet him and hit ...
An Early Elimination Chamber Preview
... The promo she cut last Tuesday shows that she’s not lost a single character beat—and her work at NXT Take Over: Toronto proved she can definitely still go in the squared circle. Lastly, in probably the most heated feud in WWE today, Nikki Bella and Natalya will attempt to confine themselves to the ring and its immediate surroundings, rather than brawling backstage, at merchandise stands, in parking lots, or really anywhere else they feel like. There seems quite a fair chance the pair abandon their respective teammates at some point and take their fight elsewhere. What’s at stake. Technically, nothing, which will lead to gripes this is a mere throwaway match. But there are plenty of story directions to take this contest—and the blue brand typically does well in using its matches to enhance and advance the narrative. In essence, it’s a building block for whatever ...

Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella & Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss, Mickie James and Natalya. This six-woman match more or less came across as expected. People were still filing in as the Smack Down Live's women's division let loose. The question would be: Which feud would get a bump here? Would Nikki pin Nattie? Would Becky get some measure of revenge on Mickie James? As it turns out, Naomi would get the big push up to become the next challenger for Alexa Bliss' belt after she returned to TV last week and then pinned the champ here tonight after a split-legged moonsault. Meanwhile, Nattle mocked Nikki ...

Nia Jax defeated Sasha Banks on Sunday at the Royal Rumble in a bout born from one of WWE's most heated rivalries. WWE provided a look at the finish. WWE @WWE. 1/29/2017, 11:40:33 PM. After losing the Raw Women's Championship to Charlotte in an epic 30-minute Iron Man match at Roadblock: End of the Line in December, Banks was nursing a knee injury, which Jax took advantage of by attacking her on Raw. Despite the ailment, The Boss made her return during a No. 1 Contender's match between Jax and Bayley. The playing of Banks' music distracted Jax enough to cause her to lose the match, which added more intensity to their feud. Jax got some revenge on the former champ by jumping her during a conditioning drill. Banks was testing her injured knee in an attempt to get cleared for in-ring action, but Jax did everything in her power to prevent that from ...
